>>> Wedge Windows
Large wedge windows are laser quality windows manufactured with wedges of 1°, 2°, 3°, or 4°. These larger wedges prevent interference by stray reflection, and have several applications in beam steering. For small angles of incidence, the deviation of a ray incident on a wedged window with wedge angle is qd = (n - 1). The first reflected ray is misaligned from the initial axis by an angle defined by qr = 2n. When using a wedge as an output coupling mirror in a laser, usually the front surface is coated with the partially reflecting coating and the second surface with an antireflection coating.
